Spirits of Brazil
Water is an integral part of Brazilian spirituality, which is not surprising given the imposing presence of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Amazon River. In pre-Columbian days, the indigenous Tupi and Guarani peoples told stories of a terrifying water serpent named mboiaçu.

With the arrival of Europeans, the water snake tale morphed into a mermaid who drew unsuspecting men into the jungle where they disappeared. Amongst the native population, mothers are held in esteem. Iara was the bad mother archetype. Yemanya, the African mother of the waters was the good nurturing mother who protected women and children. Even today, for the New Year, little boat processions are sent out on the ocean in honour of Yemanya.
Water issues have been at the forefront of Olympic news in Rio this summer: pollution so bad that rowers got sick from the ocean, mysterious green algae in the diving pool, raw sewage flowing into beaches, water bred insect Zika virus, beachside muggings and of course, the scandal of the dishonest American swimmer with his fishy tale. Was Iara expressing her ancient sea serpent ire?
Rock Star of the Month- Vogel Crystals
Vogel Crystals are natural crystals that have been carved to refine their energy. Marcel Vogel noticed that when pointing a double terminated quartz crystal at a person that the thoughts and feeling held by the holder of the crystal were magnified when received by the recipient. Vogel had worked at IBM in Silicon Valley and was the man behind liquid crystal displays (LCD) and magnetic disk drive coatings amongst other things. He was also fascinated by luminescence and held many patents. In carving his Vogel Crystals to intentionally focus the trajectory of the point to transmit universal life force energy, he followed sacred geometry measurement used in the Egyptian Pyramids (51 degrees, 51 minutes, 51 seconds) and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.
The originals are Vogels with 4, 6, 8 and 13 lines carved along the side. Fours work on the physical body, sixes work on the emotional, eights work on deep shock and severe trauma, while thirteens are used for past life healing of trauma. Since them there are many other combinations of carvings. Vogel used the piezo-electric nature of the crystal in breathing in with intention to heal and pinched the crystal between fingers to eject an electrical pulse out of the “masculine” side of the crystal that will be received either by self or another.

For Vogel, the thymus gland was the focal point of the healing. The thymus is considered by some to be the seat of the soul and is responsible for immune function. Interestingly, the thymus is larger in children who are developing their immunity to their environment and it becomes smaller in adults as we age.

In Crystal Bed therapy, Vogel Crystals are placed in front of coloured lights and pointed at each of the main seven chakras in the human body while the person lies on a healing bed. The Entity then directs universal life force healing energy through the crystals targeted at the key healing centres on the body.
Some equate this to the healing temples of Atlantis where crystal therapy was used to relax and balance the body so that it could heal itself naturally. Brazil is one of the locations where Atlantians resettled after the flood. Some of the others are Greece, Egypt, India, and the Yucatan.
