I am currently studying to become a certified aromatherapist. I am practicing on myself and some other brave souls right now.As a student practitioner, I am acquiring the knowledge about essential oils, their benefits and risks as well as the various ways to administer them. As I am not a massage therapist, my use of essential oils tends to be in bath products, lotions, inhalers, spray misters, and diluted topical applications.
Why is certification important to me?
I believe that plant medicine is sacred and should be treated with reverence. I believe that a practitioner is in a privileged position of trust with their knowledge of plant medicine. With great knowledge, comes great responsibility. I believe that it behooves us as healers to get the education we need in order to use essential oils responsibility and to educate others on the potential benefits as well as possible risks of using essential oils. I believe that we hold the well being of clients in our hands. Ignorance of the full power of the oils is not acceptable when harm can result.
Aromatherapy, like other complementary healing practices, affects the body on many different levels. Essential oils are very dense in their potency. A little goes a long way. They have complex chemical signatures including substances that impact the body’s own biochemistry at the cellular level. They can interfere with other medications or complement them. Some raise blood pressure. Some lower it. Some improve respiration. Some can stop a child from breathing. Some relax. Some invigorate. Some soothe skin irritation. Some irritate. Some increase mental clarity, while others can actually cause hallucinations. These are serious substances to be used safely and sagely.

Note: vibrational healing therapies, including the use of essential oils, are not intended as substitutions for proper medical treatment, but rather as complementary holistic supports for conscious living.
Lava Stone is porous and absorbs essential oils. Wearing lava stone bracelets allows you to diffuse your own personal aroma scents.
