Affirmations are positive intentions expressed in words or images or gestures or sounds.
When we say high five or good night or bon voyage we are extending positive loving intentions. When we send a beautiful card or sing a celebratory song to someone our best wishes go along. It is the thought that counts. Thoughts have energy.
We do not ever want to send out wishes with resentment or guilt, because what is received feels yucky. Feel free to remind your mothers in law of that. Dr Masuru Emoto did studies of water around the world and found that water that was cursed at or in angry milieu was structurally impeded when viewed in frozen state at the microscopic level. Whereas water that was prayed over, blessed or even just had positive affirming words written on its container thrived as evidenced in the symmetrical frozen snowflake structure.

Those exposed repeatedly to rock, heavy metal or toxic lyrics withered while those exposed to positive lyrics, more harmonious and some traditional classical music thrived. Beauty in nature is awe inspiring and just taking a moment in the midst of busy day and looking at a scene of gorgeous land or seascape can heal in a heartbeat. Prince William keeps pictures of African wildlife on his mobile phone to help the future King to keep calm so he can carry on.
